Planning, GroupWise Design

Agents must be installed on each cluster node   Why?? - RPM database issues Log and Startup files are on cluster resource Designate one node as the “install node”    Import cluster data to all other nodes Create mount points on appropriate cluster nodes   Online resource to “install node” prior to agent configuration Or create a Cluster Resource for Software Distribution Directory - online to node for agent configuration Can create mount point with cluster resource load script “ignore_error mkdir /mnt/mountpoint”

Implementation, Domain & MTA

    Cluster resource must be online before installation  Resource = Cluster volume and secondary IP address Use “install –-cluster” or select Cluster Install on initial dialog Agent install path is hard coded   /opt/novell/groupwise/agents Agents must be installed to all appropriate nodes Enter path to cluster resource mount point  Log path, startup files point to /opt/groupwise/share

Advisor.com

Implementation, Domain & MTA

    Loading the MTA   /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin/gwmta @//groupwise/agents/share/utah.mta

/etc/init.d/grpwise start utah Unload the MTA  /etc/init.d/grpwise stop utah Edit Cluster load/unload scripts Test the Cluster Resource

Advisor.com

Implementation, Post Office & POA

    Configure the Cluster Resource    Load Script Unload Script Fail Over Loading the POA   /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin/gwpoa @//groupwise/agents/share/provo.poa

/etc/init.d/grpwise start provo.utah

Unload the POA  /etc/init.d/grpwise stop provo.utah

Edit load/unload scripts and test the Cluster Resource

Advisor.com

Implementation, GWHA

    GWHA and GWHA.CONF on each node  gwha.conf provides start/stop info for the grpwise script Install has “import clustering data” option  Writes all agent config data to gwha.conf on each node Install must be done from a SDD  Creates /gwinst/clusterimport.conf

GWMonitor uses GWHA to provide agent restart capabilities in Linux   GWMonitor detects if agent is down and issues a restart request to GWHA GWHA configuration

Existing Slide Show Continued...

   Your slides should be automatically updated to reflect the styles in this template.

If your title slide doesn’t reflect the new style, delete it from your presentation. From the Insert menu, select New Slide, choose Title Slide and update the session information, author & company. Continue adding slides with your content.

Slide Guidelines

 To create a slide show with a consistent look that is easy for people to read (including people in the back of the room), please follow these guidelines.  Your slides should emphasize key points.

  Max 9 lines per slide Max 9 words per line

Advisor.com

Slide Guidelines Continued...

  Minimum font size for code = 20 points End your slides 3/4 of the way down. Do not put important information in the bottom 1/4 of the slide.

   Please do not change font style, size, and color except for special purposes.

Use the defaults provided by the groupwise.pot template.

When finished, name the file as your session number (for example XYZ301.ppt).

Working with Speaker Notes

  Speaker Notes give you a place to provide additional documentation or explanation to the bulleted points on your slides.

To add or edit Speaker Notes, go to the View menu and choose Notes Page.  While in this view, you can only edit notes. To go back to editing your presentation, double click on the slide or choose slide from the View menu.

Advisor.com

Speaker Notes Continued...

  You can also add or edit Speaker Notes by going to the View menu and choosing Speaker Notes.  While in this view, a small window will pop up on your screen and you will be able to view and/or edit your notes as you edit your slides.

Your notes may be longer than the page size. They will not be cut off during the file conversion for the CD, but the text exceeding the page will not appear in print.

Advisor.com

Speaker Notes Continued...

 During the file conversion for the CD, speaker notes will become plain black text on a white background. Any special formatting for this text and/or text area will be lost.

 When you finish adding and editing slides and speaker notes, name the file as your session number (for example XYZ301.ppt).

Final Note

  When submitting your file(s), simply save your PowerPoint presentation as instructed in previous slides.

If submitting multiple files per session, please separate them in folders.
