Thebes
there are many different versions of the
Egyptian religion (mythology) and they varied
from city to city each one claiming that their
city was the center of
the world. We chose to
use the city of thebes

Thebes Extended
Thebes was the model for all other cities of
the world.
Thebes was created on
a hill. They thought the
hill was the beginning of
the world.

In The Beginning ...
The world began as nothing but a vast
featureless large body of water, and the god
Nun was the only existing entity. Then Atum
who would become the king of the gods
sprang forth from the body of Nun.

Creation of Gods and Land
“Atum spoke and set creation in motion”(Don
Nardo page 32). He began creating other
gods and he ripped a piece of land from off
of his body and created the first city Thebes.
After this he ascended to the sky, and
became the sun god (Atum-Ra).

Creation of Man
Man was made from the tears of Atum-Ra.
Man very quickly rebelled against the gods
and swore to overthrow them. Atum-Ra
along with his other gods defeated the
usurping humans and cursed them with
diseases and hardship.
