STUDENT LOANS
ON-LINE APPLICATION
Welcome to the SFA System
• Clicking on the icon will take you to the Welcome page
• Select Log On from the left menu
Log On
• Before logging on, you will need to Create Web Account, located on the
bottom right corner of your screen
• If you have already created your account, enter your SIN number and
password to Log On
• The Need Help button is available on the top right corner of each screen to
provide instructions

• Complete the required information and select Create Account
Update Web Account
• To Update Web Account select from left menu

Create/Update/Delete Application
• Before you are able to Create/Update/Delete an application, you
will need to read the Before You Start
• If you try to proceed, you will receive the following error
message:

• Your personal information was entered in a secure area and cannot
be viewed by others

• You can now Create Full-Time Student Loan Application by
selecting the appropriate year

Applicant Demographic
• Screens are similar to the paper application
• A list of the Applicant screens is on the left menu bar
Applicant Program
• Complete questions regarding Tuition and Books
Applicant Program
• If you are not attending the U of R, U of S, or a SIAST campus,
select Other School and submit a Program Information Form

• Ensure you are familiar with the consequences of discontinuing
Applicant Program
• Select your School Name from the drop down
• A new pop up will allow you to select Program Name

• Select Program Name
• A new pop up will allow you to select your Session
Applicant Program
• Select Session
• Provide additional program information and Submit
Applicant Program
• If your school is not listed, select Other School
• Enter Study Period Start and End Date
• You will be need to submit a Program Information Form completed by
your school
• The form is available to print at the end of the application process
Applicant Category
• Complete the following questions to determine your Applicant Category
• If you are a dependent student, you will need to complete the parental
information
• If you are married/common-law, you will need to complete the spousal
information
Applicant Dependants
• Select Add Dependant to add information about each dependant
• Once you have added all your dependants, select Next
Applicant Dependants
• Add the requested information for your first dependant
• To add additional dependants, select Add Another Dependant
• You can Cancel This Dependant if you make a mistake prior to selecting Save
Dependants.
• Select Save Dependants once all your dependents information has been
added. You will be taken back to the Applicant Dependants screen

• Complete the Citizenship and Saskatchewan Residency questions
that apply

eligibility for certain grants

• Complete elementary/high school information
• Enter your most recent period of full-time studies where you received student
loans/grants and indicate if you were successful or not
• You can skip the Successful Completion section if you have never received
student loans/grants from Saskatchewan

Complete the information below if you were going to full-time
post-secondary, adult basic education or skills training within the
four months before your upcoming period of study.

• Select View Application to review your information

correctly

information, use the
left menu to select
the screen that
requires updating
• Once you are sure
your information is
complete, select

• If you have not provided all required information, you will
receive an error message
• To update the information, select the highlighted area on the
message or select the appropriate screen from the left menu

• Submit Application if your information is complete

• Your application CANNOT be updated on-line after it is successfully submitted
• You must select required documents to access the documents necessary to
complete the application process
• Reference your Application Number when inquiring about your student loan

Application, you will be
given a list of required
documents
• Print these documents,
complete and forward to
the Student Service Centre
• You may log back into your
account to print these
documents at a later date

• Remember, the processing of your application cannot be completed until all
Required Documents have been received by the Student Service Centre
• Ensure that you Log Out to keep your information secure
