Vegetation Monitoring Data/Work
Flow Charts



Pertain only to vegetation monitoring data collected
using the CVS-EEP Protocol for Recording
Vegetation
Provide valuable information necessary for managing
both Vegetation Baseline Data (VBD) collection as
well as ongoing Y1-Y2 Vegetation Monitoring Data
(VMD)
Everyone involved in the scoping, collecting, and
delivery of CVS-EEP monitoring data should be
familiar with and follow the flow charts.

Data Related Guidance for EEP
Monitoring Contracts


General Scoping Advice
 Scopes beginning with baseline data collection should
reflect lower hours/cost in monitoring years 1-5.
Common Issues Related to Data Collection
 Archived versions of the data entry tool will be distributed
by CVS to each monitoring contractor prior to June of each
year.
 Vegetation Data for monitorng year 1 must be collected in
September.
 If data can not be delivered to CVS according to the flow
charts, the vegetation specialist should be notified by email.

Monitoring Contracts (cont.)

Miscellaneous Data Issues



If an observed stem seems to have been planted, but was
declared to be a “natural stem” in a previous monitoring
year, do not change the source code without coordinating
with the vegetation specialist.
To reduce the number of unknown species associated with
baseline data, coordination with the planting contractor to
facilitate the identification of bare root seedlings is
recommended.
The narrative sections of the monitoring report template
should contain references to the data.
