Welcome to Year 3 Class 1 Class 2 Mrs Gynn Mrs Johnson Mrs Mosson Mrs Terry Mrs Screen Mrs Wickham Mrs Adams Year 3 Year 3 Themed days and weeks • Book Week 13th October • Global day • Science day Literacy • Reading – please listen to your child read aloud at least 3 times a week and sign their record so we’re able to give them an extra dolphin point! • Writing - Talk for Writing Grammar Punctuation Spelling • Hand Writing - Cursive writing • Groupings Numeracy • Number and Place Value • Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division • Fractions • Geometry and Measures • Statistics • Problem Solving • Times Tables – 40 Tables • Groupings Homework • Literacy Homework • Spellings to learn will be given on a Friday on a ‘Look, Cover, Write, Check’ sheet & tested on the following Friday. • Weekly Literacy homework will be given out on a Friday to be in on a Wednesday. It may complement spellings, a piece of writing, a comprehension task or a grammar exercise. • Reading at home at least 3 times per week. * Please note, sometimes we will give a termly homework project in place of weekly Literacy tasks. Projects will be linked to our Topic. • Maths Homework • One piece of Maths homework will be given out on a Friday to be handed in on the following Wednesday. • In addition to this, children need to practise their times tables. The children will have a weekly 40 times table test on Friday mornings. Please provide your child with a named homework folder.
