• A Mixed Number indicates the sum of a
whole number and a fraction. A number
like
11/3 is an example of a
mixed number.
• 1 1/3 = 1 + 1/3

• If the numerator is greater than the
denominator, then the fractions ae
called improper fractions.
• Mixed Numbers can written as

• A mixed number indicates the sum of a whole
number and a fraction
• If the numerator is greater than the denominator,
then the fraction is called improper fraction.
• To convert a mixed number into improper
fraction, multiply the whole number and
denominator and to the product add the
numerator.
• To convert an improper fraction into a mixed
fraction, divide the numerator by the
denominator and use the remainder as the
numerator of the fraction.
