Mesopotamia is located in western Asia. Two rivers,
the Tigris and Euphrates , are located in
Mesopotamia.
Farming
Mesopotamia had
many farms filled
with wheat and
barley,
Mesopotamia’s
most important
crops. Because the
rivers flooded at
the wrong time,
farmers made
irrigation systems.
The region in southern Mesopotamia at around
3000 B.C.E is known as Sumer.

CUNEIFORM
Sumerians invented a system of writing
called cuneiform. Cuneiform was 500
picture signed that stood for sounds or
objects.
People from the Syrian desert moved into
Northern Mesopotamia and centered around a
city called Babylon.
Babylon, a city in Mesopotamia, was
one of the most important cities in
the Middle East. It became important
because Hammurabi made Babylon the
capital of his kingdom.
