Volunteer Training Process

Phase II: Relationship Development (PR & MS)  Meet, in office, with interested volunteer within one week of initial contact  Have them complete application after interview Following reference check, review of application, plug them into a scheduled appointment, “First Experience” Allows them to see and “get hooked” from the beginning Allows you to know they are available during regular appointment times Explicit instructions MUST be given to new volunteer not to contribute

: Orientation to general patient services, SLM  Delivered at first visit, assignment for each week  Department Leader will need to add additional materials to SLM packet, from supplements provided by CompassCare

: Orientation to general patient services, SLM  Delivered at first visit, assignment for each week  All PR patient-contact volunteers must complete the first 4 modules.

 Advocates must also complete the last module, “The Seven Fundamentals”  You will need to work with your Executive and Advancement Director to create the content for Module 1: Culture
