Seed Projects
Seed Projects can be:
• Pilot projects which test and evaluate an original idea,
including those that plan to build into full proposals, or
• Stand-alone, small-scale projects, or
• Projects which build the capacity of early-career
academics, including projects which are led by early
career academics.

Seed Projects: Applications
• Online application form
– Completed via the OLT Grants Portal
• Application
– Attachment to the online application form
– 10 A4 pages
– Address all selection criteria
• Appendices
– Letter of Endorsement from lead and partner institutions
– Biographies of project team
– Design specifications (for applications proposing technical
developments)

Features of a good application
• Awareness and knowledge of current issues in learning
and teaching
• Passion for improving learning and teaching
• Identifies value, need and impact beyond the home
institution
• Aims and outcomes are achievable within the timeline
and budget
• Uses plain English
• Is not a research project – has a practical impact

OLT Grants – Application Process
• Submit Expression of Interest: Monday 2 March
• Attend writing workshop: Wednesday 25 March
• Submit final application for internal assessment:

• Receive formal letter of University endorsement: early June
• Submit to OLT via online Portal : Monday 22 June
