Curriculum Office
 The Curriculum Department provides
relevant, standards-based, aligned curricula
that enhances learning opportunities for all
students so that achievement improves. In
order to support teachers, administrators
and parents in the delivery of effective
instruction, the department facilitates
academic and instructional leadership,
professional development experiences, and
the analysis of assessment data.

Federal Programs
The federal government gives
additional money to qualifying schools
in order to provide safety nets for
students who need help. In the
Woodland Hills School District,
students are eligible to receive Federal
Programs’ help in grades K-6.

In WHSD, Federal Programs provides:
 Additional teachers and assistants to work
with very small groups or one-on-one
 Additional training for staff
 Extra time for instruction
 A variety of teaching methods and materials
 Counseling
 Smaller class size

 Provide leadership in developing curricula that fit the
diverse needs of our student population
 Assure that curriculum
– Is aligned to PA standards, anchors and eligible
content
– Promotes research-based instructional strategies and
activities
– Allow for differentiation of instruction to address the
needs of all learners
– Includes innovative and engaging activities such as
small group instruction, problem-based learning,
inquiry based learning and hands on activities
– Integrates assessment and instruction
