This is Highgate Wood’s best ever set of A Level results!!!
However....




Early analysis shows that we could have done even
better still! – some issues beyond our control, but
some that we can learn from
The pressure remains on this year to achieve (or
hopefully exceed) our next target which is 72%
Never again should we return to results in the 40s
and 50s (or even the 60s if we are to be
outstanding)
The work goes on.... There are still more
improvements to be made... 1st place in Haringey is
up for grabs!!!
Subject Performance
Where we could have
done even better...

Of those students who achieved 5 + A*-Cs
– 15 students achieved a C in maths but not in English
– 10 Students achieved a C in English but not in maths
– The additional 25 students would give us 82%

English Grade Boundaries
– We had 16 students who missed the C by 9 marks or less;
11 of whom would have attained 5 A*-C with English and
Maths. (Taking the school up to 180/236 = 76.3%)
– We had 21 students who missed the B by 9 marks or less;
– We had 37 students who missed either an A or A* by 9
marks or less.

Overall....




Again, we have much reason to be pleased and
much to celebrate! 
Following the significant jump from last year to
maintain and improve was important, i.e. No blip –
we should enjoy this and feel proud!
It also gives us and our students even greater
reason to talk about HWS with renewed pride
We have made a positive difference to our
students, maintained the highest of expectations of
them, and inspired their self belief!!!
A New Mission
Statement...
‘Making a positive difference to
students’ achievements and
experiences, maintaining the highest
expectations
and inspiring self belief’
