However.... Early analysis shows that we could have done even better still! – some issues beyond our control, but some that we can learn from The pressure remains on this year to achieve (or hopefully exceed) our next target which is 72% Never again should we return to results in the 40s and 50s (or even the 60s if we are to be outstanding) The work goes on.... There are still more improvements to be made... 1st place in Haringey is up for grabs!!! Subject Performance Where we could have done even better... Of those students who achieved 5 + A*-Cs – 15 students achieved a C in maths but not in English – 10 Students achieved a C in English but not in maths – The additional 25 students would give us 82% English Grade Boundaries – We had 16 students who missed the C by 9 marks or less; 11 of whom would have attained 5 A*-C with English and Maths. (Taking the school up to 180/236 = 76.3%) – We had 21 students who missed the B by 9 marks or less; – We had 37 students who missed either an A or A* by 9 marks or less. Some Highlights Maths 81% A*-Cs – highest ever and better than last year by 8% (and significantly better than the national figure of 58%) 35% A* and A grades (compared to the national average of 17%) 37 students achieved A* Subject Performance.... Some Highlights Spanish 89% A*-Cs (compared to the national figure of 74%) History 68% A* and A grades (compared to the national average of 30%) Biology 83% A* and A grades (compared to the national average of 46%) Subject Performance.... Some Highlights Chemistry 73% A* and A grades (compared to the national figure of 48%) Science 27% A* and A grades (compared to the national average of 10%) ECS 78% A* - C grades (compared to the national average of 74%) – based on 213 entries – significantly more entries than most other non-faith schools Subject Performance.... Again, we have much reason to be pleased and much to celebrate! Following the significant jump from last year to maintain and improve was important, i.e. No blip – we should enjoy this and feel proud! It also gives us and our students even greater reason to talk about HWS with renewed pride We have made a positive difference to our students, maintained the highest of expectations of them, and inspired their self belief!!!
