Expanded workshop offerings: Pre-School Asthma ; Asthma Action Plan Revised and Accredited Programs and integrated the turning point technologies – Updated the online Asthma modules Held 19 PEP workshops across the province of Ontario In development: e-learning modules on Asthma Action Plan, Spirometry Promoted PEP programs and materials through partnership building and various marketing initiatives, including professional conference exhibits, publications and the web-based initiatives.

What is the central purpose of PEP?

To provide a high quality, evidence based, unbiased and standardized education program in lung health that is relevant to Ontario and Canadian health care providers

Strategic Focus Areas:

Knowledge Translation

– We have expanded our knowledge translation efforts and provide program content in formats that are meaningful to care providers

– Our knowledge translation methods (how we organize, formalize, review, implement and evaluate our programs) have been fully integrated into a well established quality improvement program

Our knowledge translation methods (how we organize, formalize, review, implement and evaluate our programs) have been fully integrated into a well established quality improvement program • Adapt PEP workshops to different models of care – (CHC/FHT/NPLC) • Amongst primary care providers, we have increased awareness of the use and benefits of COPD and asthma indicators in their practice 11

EVALUATION

PCAP Collaborative Care Pilot Project

Hypothesis:

A multi-faceted mentorship intervention will increase primary health care practitioner use of spirometry in patients with suspected and diagnosed asthma over 1 year, compared to routine care in the year prior.
