A Team Approach to District Leadership
The district governor, first vice district governor, and second
vice district governor are really members of a relay team.
Each year, the district governor provides leadership with the
support of his/her vice district governors. At the beginning of
each Lions year, the baton is passed to the next member of the
team.
12
Benefits of a Team Approach

Tasks are delegated and dispersed, resulting in more
effective district administration/leadership

Opportunities for vice district governors to gain experience

Continuity in district administration from year-to-year

Fosters a collaborative, supportive team environment
Teamwork leads to better results!

Successful District Governor Teams

common vision…the ability to direct individual
accomplishment toward organizational
objectives. It is the fuel that allows common
people to attain uncommon results.”
~Andrew Carnegie, Scottish-American industrialist,
