Volunteer Commitment Form
As a volunteer to do God’s work in carrying out the mission and vision of the Vietnamese Youth
Convention known as VYC5 in Seattle, Washington on the 4th of July weekend in 2015 for the
Vietnamese Catholic Youth around the country, I ___________________________________________
understand my role and responsibility to God, my Parish, my peers, and the Vietnamese Catholic Youth
that will be participating in this convention. With this understanding of my role & responsibilities and

• Khoi Truong & BDH Retreat was a success!
• Extended matching until Sunday Feb. 22nd
• First deposit made to PLU $31K.
• Super Bowl fundraising event was a success.
• Publicity Blitz is on.
• Tacoma, WA visit was a huge success.
• PLU tour set up for Feb. 28th and March 28th.

Activity- Khối Sinh Hoạt
1. Goal for activities committee: Come up with
EXCITING icebreakers/activities for participants
to mingle and have fun! Main focus is to recruit
volunteers! LOTS AND LOTS OF
VOLUNTEERS! Our plans will not run smoothly
or according to plan if we do not have an
efficient amount of volunteers.
2. What we need to achieve it: VOLUNTEERS!
Lots and lots of QUALITY volunteers!! (people
who are energetic, enthusiastic, people friendly,
and who can lead a group of 20 on their own)
3. Detailed plan: Here are all of the time slots
activities committee is signed up to fulfill. We
not have specific ice breakers/games at this
point but I have a rough break down of what
we envision.

• 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM: First time separating into our designated
groups and doing fun ice breakers
• 2:00PM-4:00PM: Organize rally to lead into opening
ceremony

• 8:00AM- 9:00AM: Zumba exercise for EVERYONE ALL
TOGETHER!!

tournament, relay competitions, etc)

• 9:30AM- 10:00AM: Morning prayer and last ice breaker/game

Technical Design Priorities
1. Minimize/Eliminate Audio Feedback
• This may create restrictions where we can put the choir, altar,
etc.
2. Support the stage ‘look’ that we desire
• We do not need to ‘show-off’ equipment to be successful.
• Hiding equipment is just as important to create the
environment we want to for VYC
3. Deliver high quality audio
• It has to sound good after #1 and #2 is done in order to have a
successful event.
• Support sounds ‘feeling’ and dynamic range required by
entertainment, praise & worship, adoration, liturgy
4. Deliver proper lighting brightness for stage effects &
photography & video (30 frames per second)

• Staff may be asked to support other committees
& tasks during the convention.
• Staff are encouraged to sign-up for Package A
and spend the weekend onsite to support the
successful hosting of VYC where needed.
Volunteers Classification
• Who are Volunteers?
• Volunteers are all those who only attend VYC for a
limited duration with a specific role/need.
• Committee helpers

• Who coordinates Volunteers?
• Tracy Thảo Bùi will oversee all volunteers through
the coordinate with Ban Điều Hành & all Khối
Trường.
• Volunteers must check-in & check-out with Tracy
Thảo Bùi to ensure accountability for logistics.
Volunteers at VYC
• Volunteers will be issued a unique badge & Tshirt but will NOT be allowed to attend any
workshops/events during the convention (except
the role/event they are asked to support.
• Volunteers are welcome to remain on-campus but
will NOT be allowed to stay on-campus overnight.
• Volunteers will not be provided a meal plan
through the school but rather by our Food
Committee.
