 Closing of Contract - End activity in any Project.
 Present Status - Contracts getting closed well beyond
COD or handing over of the Projects - Delays of years
 Customer with-holding Crores of Rupees of BHEL
 Sundary Debtor on rise – 14 Projects for closing this
financial year has Rs 236 Crores o/s for PSWR
 Image of BHEL gets a hit in the market.
 Know the hiccups coming in contract closing and
concentrate right from beginning of Project to shorten
Cycle time for Contract Closing.
 Identified key areas and recommendations put in place

Present Methodology - Contract Closing monitoring
 Contract Closing Group at Corporate Office which remains the focal
group for driving Contract closing
 It is involving all the concerned Units/ Engineering Centre and
Regions. Structured meeting once in a month for review. Status is
shared in every MCM.
 Web based system for updating Status of Pending issues Project
wise is existing.
 Every Unit, Engineering centre and Region has identified a coordinator for Contract Closing Activity. In PSWR co-ordinator for
this activity is Mr JB BHANDARI.
 PSWR involves all concerned Departments like PMX, TSX, Site,
PUR, FIN etc to liquidate the pending issues associated with PSWR.
 Contract Closing has been put under two categories  Technical Closing - All issues settled except financial
 Commercial Closing - All issues settled including Financial.
