The
Program
is designed as a continued education of local, state and federal public health professionals in informatics methods and tools to strengthen public workforce capacities in protecting the health public’s health through the science and service in health information technology and informatics.

Deliver general training in PHI to build an informed professional workforce for staffing public health agencies, and Provide public health practitioners and public health information exchanges with the fundamental HIT and informatics knowledge and skills needed in the development of a Nationwide Health Information Network of interoperable clinical

Our
Program
is tailored to: Increase Public Health Informatics capacities at the local, state and federal levels and Improve agencies IT infrastructure to adhere to Operational Definition of a Local Public Health System Core Public Health Functions and Ten Essential Public Health Services
Partnership To Enhance Public Health Informatics Program Curriculum
The curriculum will be developed in accordance with the CDC Core Competencies for Public Health Informatics.
Partnership To Enhance Public Health Informatics Program Format
A combination of online and in-class delivery formats.
Partnership To Enhance Public Health Informatics Program Tracks:
General Training in PHI (PHI-GT)
—Track 1
—an introductory level course for a broad audience of public health practitioners;
General Public Health Informatician Certification Training Program (PHI-GC)
—Track 2
—an in-depth professional informatics training program for public health practitioners involved in the development and operation of public health information systems; Will not be included due to the budget cut:
Senior Public Health Informatician Certification Training Program (PHI-SC)
—Track 3
—
an advanced professional informatics-training program for senior public health officials involved in the strategic planning of adoption of HIT at public health agencies.

will be implemented using a phased approach with incremental development of in-class and online courses and on-going evaluation at the student, course, track and program levels.
