What Protocols Do We Have?
Protocols:

 approximately 90% of VoIP ports and growing video ports
• SIP in late experimental stage driven by promise of enhanced
services
 potential positioning in backbone and access
• MGCP introduced at edge
 “standard” protocol between softswitch and endpoint
No clear protocol “winner”
future networks will be multi-protocol
