 Changes to subject content - more academic rigour  Changes to assessment systems - linear examinations - less controlled assessment  Changes to grading systems - English and maths will be numbered!

 A* ‐ G will be replaced by 9 ‐ 1  English & maths will be numbered whereas all other subjects will still be lettered (all other subjects will follow in 2018)  We cannot change this – you will receive a mixture of results on results day  We are informed that: - The bottom of new grade 7 equates to the bottom of grade A - The bottom of new grade 4 equates to the bottom of grade C  We anticipate that a grade 5 will come to replace what is currently considered to be a ‘good pass’ or C grade.

 Teachers will have a good idea of what students can do with their particular subjects – go and talk to them!  It’s very important that students make the effort to speak to their teachers to gain a clear understanding of whether they are suitable for the subject.
