Ohio’s Credit Transfer
Transfers in the University System of Ohio*
• Transfer volumes: 40,000 undergraduates – more than 7.0% transfer every year
• Among students from the 2001 freshman class, 23.2% transferred in subsequent years
• Transfer volumes have increased steadily by 21.0% in the last decade
• Transfer between 2-year and 4-year institutions have increased in recent years.
• Increases in transfer driven by rising enrollments:
Enrollment up from 467,039 in 2002 to 503,142 in 2009, resulting in
increased ratios of transfers-to-enrollments up from 6.4% / 2002 to 7.2% / 2009
