How we express ourselves International Mindedness can

Build understanding of the world – to give them
clearer conceptual frameworks that help them make
meaning.

CURRICULUM AND LEARNING
Subjects to be studied:
●English - Oral Language - Listening and Speaking, Visual Language Viewing and Presenting, Written Language – Reading, Writing
●Focus: improving writing skills, comprehension
●Mathematics - Number, Data Handling, Measurement, Shape and Space,
Pattern and Function
●Focus: improving basic facts, number sense
●Social Studies, PSE, Science, Visual Art - integrated when meaningful
through inquiry units
●PE, Music, Chinese (Specialist Subjects)
LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES
IN YEAR 6
● Meaningfully integrated within our classrooms to
enhance and showcase student learning.
●Enhances: collaboration, creativity, communication
HOMEWORK
●Students will receive their homework every two weeks
●Subjects may include Mathematics, English, Inquiry, IT and
Chinese
●Reading daily
●The grid will be on The Buzz and will be sent home as a hard copy
in their homework books
●Chinese is given out separately on the Buzz

THE EXHIBITION
Parent Information Evening – Beginning of T2, TBA
●Exhibition – Last week of term
●
The exhibition “represents a significant event in the
life of a PYP school and student, synthesizing the
essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with
the whole school community. As a culminating
experience it is an opportunity for students to exhibit
the attributes of the IB learner profile that have been
developing throughout their engagement with the PYP.”

The majority of communication from the class will
come via email and diary.
