NIT has been imparting quality education since its
inception in 2001. This has been mostly possible
due to its vision and the availability of highly
skilled faculty members . Students at NIT have been
provided with well-equipped LABs to hone their
skills for better future prospects and in order to
stay ahead of the race. Central Computing facility
has been envisioned with the purpose of further
enhancing the skill sets of students by providing
them with better facilities in terms of quality of
systems, availability of varied softwares and faster
internet access for technical reference. The Central
Computing facility is managed by dedicated Servers,
efficient networking and new and improved PCs.

NIT’S Central Computing Facility is equipped with IBM X3400 series Servers.
There are 7 IBM Servers dedicated to various domains like Database
Management Systems, Proxy Servers, Anti-virus Servers, Attendance Systems,
ERP Servers, Backup Servers and Online Test Servers.

NIT’s Central Computing Facility is equipped with a 4 MBps Fibre Optic
backbone from Aliiance Digital Services (ISP), and a fail-over backup 2 MBps
Leased Line from TULIP Networks. Internally the bandwidth is segregated by
Cyberoam UTM, Squid Proxy, and CISCO 2950 Catalyst Switches.

NIT is facilitated by different labs for different streams / subjects. There are over 16 Labs for
various reasons which are accessible by students anytime during the college hours.

Internet facilities are provided for all students, staffs and faculty members. There is a dedicated
Internet Lab for students which they can avail during the college hours. Pentium 4 PCs provide this
facility in the Internet Lab
