What is Electrostatic Painting?



Electrostatic painting is a spray process of
applying liquid paint coatings to metal.
Atomized paint particles are positively charged
and are drawn to the grounded metal object.
Atomization occurs due to centrifugal force rather
than air assisted.
A variety of paint coatings can be applied
electrostatically including two-component
epoxies, poly-urethanes, and fluoro-polymers.
Benefits of the Electrostatic Process
95%+ Transfer efficiency of the coatings
minimizes over spray
 Allows for a factory equivalent finish to be
applied on the job site
 Uniform film thickness and consistent
coating performance
 The static charge creates a “wrap-around”
effect providing improved paint coverage
