Headline News - Infrastructure Gap cont...
• As the gap increases, there are three choices:
– Find more money (grants/low interest loans)
– Raise taxes and rates
– Reduce Level of Service
SAM provides a UNIQUE palatable choice:
“It is not about spending more it is about
optimising current spending”

What Problem Does SAM Solve?
Look at an asset portfolio = Adelaide City Council – One of Australia’s Largest Council.
Asset Portfolio = $ 2.0 billion.
Historic consumption per annum = 3% i.e $60.0 M per annum.
SAM is about to influence their decision making:
Target consumption rate = 1.0% per annum i.e $20.0 M per annum
Data is captured using Trimble devices.
5 options presented last week and the new Mayor has put an incremental scenario as the
single most important decision that the City will implement moving forward.
