 To deploy 100 church multiplication teams in order to
 establish 1,000 reproducible congregations that
 enfold 1 million new followers of Christ, who will in turn
 send 1,000 missionaries from Japan to the cities of Asia
that will
 be home to 1 billion people by the year 2020 A.D.

 1996~99:
Yamagata Church Multiplication Project I
 Partnership with 5 visionary pastors
 Rural, more traditional & resistant part of Japan
 Network of pastors and church multiplication
missionaries
 All five churches reproduced (within 30 months)
 1999~2002
Yamagata CM Project II
 5 newly-planted churches began plans
to reproduce again and are doing so
 Each of the mother churches are also
involved in multiplying

 Each mother church selects Japanese pastor of

 United purpose  plant a church in 3 years
 Missionaries, if involved, stay for 3 years or less

 After 3 years, these outcomes are expected:
 An indigenous, self-autonomous church is established
with ongoing Japanese leadership
 The new church does not require ongoing financial
support from the North American church
 The missionary leaves without creating dependency
 The North American church has planted a church in the
strategic nation of
Japan and helped to
reach a community
for Christ

The Need for
Church Planting Associates
 CP Associates will:
Usually be 21-35 years of age
Exhibit a learning posture
Raise a portion of their finances
Work alongside a Japanese pastor
Be mentored by an experienced missionary
Accelerate the church multiplication process by incorporating
their gifts and abilities
 Have many placement options…






