My opinion is , the course should start on monday to Friday from 08:30 up to 09:30. 18-Jul-15 3:0 The Strong point of the course: -The Stimulates 5 Course is advanced and relevant to its clientele,it was properly designed to suits the needs of the candidates.Lectures uses sophisticated methods in delivering the lectures such as use of multimedia projector. 25 18-Jul-15 4:0 The best components of the course: -The course on presentation of information in a scientific environment, publishing on WWW,ISIS Software application,XML,HTML,courses are relevant to my job as well as professional advancement. 26 18-Jul-15 5:0 Not so good. 27 Elementary library statistics. The course was being lectured in very advanced way ,which are of no use to daily library routine duties,as Librarians we need a simple course on how to present simple statistical data such as histogram, pie charts etc. 18-Jul-15 6:0 My general comments and suggestions about the course. 28 During the course period .I have learned a lot of things as far as the information technology is concerned. After completion of my course I will be able to design WEB page, automation of library by using CDS/ISIS Software. Current developments and applications of Information and Communication Technologies in Knowledge Management. ii. Introduction to Micro Computer Systems. iii. Introduction to the Development and Management of Database Systems in relation with Knowledge Management. iv. The concept of Network Systems (Intranet, Internet, WWW) as tools in effective Knowledge Management practices. v. Training on Website development and publishing. vi. Training on Data Analysis using different software packages and presentation. vii. Introduction to the concept of e-resources (Electronic Resources) and their positive applications in Knowledge Management (eg. Virtual Libraries, e-journals, Digital Libraries). 38 Some Successes of the Programme The programme was really a success considering the following: i. ii. iii. iv. v. Provided enabled platform and opportunity for experts and specialists of different social-cultural and economical backgrounds to gather, interact and share their experiences in Knowledge Management.. Participants had improved their knowledge base on Knowledge Management practices after going through current and anticipated future developments in the Information and Knowledge Management. Various study tours and exposures had served as an eye opener to the participants and had really challenge them in the quest to Manage Knowledge. Participants had been equipped with various tools like e-resources and database management practices in Knowledge Management environments. Well organized visits to modern and scientific libraries had served as catalyst in our studies. 39 SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE PROGRAMME • The programme duration seems to be short. It would recommended that the course period be extended to ensure effective understanding of all topics to be covered. • Lack of system for lecturers to ascertain the level of understanding from participants after each major topic. This I believe will enable Lecturers, Presenters assess the rate of understanding of the participants since they are from different backgrounds. 40 BEST COMPONENTS OF THE PROGRAMME The integrated teaching approach whereby various experts and gurus from different related fields are invited to share their rich but practical experiences on the various topics of discussions. Well organized study tours, which actualized the essence of the programme. 41 NOT SO GOOD COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAMME • The programme content seems to be compressed. • The Internet connectivity at Student Home was not reliable and very intermittent. This was not conducive for further studies after lectures. 42 Future Plans To share my experience and skills with my fellow Documentalists in UNICEF fraternity. To Collaborate and network with other libraries on Knowledge Management practices. To recommend the adaptation of ICT technologies for information services and automation of libraries 43 The End Thank you! Danc U!
