Support
Agencies for
Parents and
Young People
From time to time, whether we are
parents, teenagers ourselves or
adults working with young
people, we will all find ourselves
in a situation where we would
benefit from some support or
guidance to help us to know how
to approach an issue or a
potential problem. The following
pages outline agencies that are
available for, information, support
or further assistance should you
need them.
In School Support
Your school, you and
your child have access to many
agencies through the school.
The Tender Loving Care,
teenage lifestyles clinic runs in
the Child Development room on
a Monday and Friday lunchtimes.
The clinic is run on a drop in
basis and trained professionals
with particular expertise in dealing
with alcohol and drugs problems,
careers and sexual health are
available.

managing their work effectively.
However, there are times when some
students will feel overwhelmed or
anxious about their work. The
following links provide ideas and
suggestions for support.

Internet Safety
The internet is an exciting
resource for young people and
can be enormously beneficial to
them educationally. The
“Thinkuknow” website is an
extremely useful site for students
and parents to consider internet
safety. Students in year 9 will be
exploring this issue further later in
the year and the Safer Schools and
Communities team will put on an
evening for parents in March. The
parents area on the web-site is:
