There are three degrees to explore:
Associate Degree of Science in Criminal
Justice (64 credits)
Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal
Justice (128 credits)
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice
(128 credits)
The CJ Program
All Criminal Justice degrees begin with a
list of general education requirements
followed by prescribed courses for the
major of criminal justice.
Associate Degree
General Education Requirements:
Writing/Speaking (GWS) – 3 credits
Quantification (GQ) – 3 credits
Natural Science (GN) – 3 credits
Arts (GA) – 3 credits
Humanities (GH) – 3 credits
Social Sciences (GS) – 3 credits
One additional general education course from
any of the above categories – 3 credits

Other University-Wide Requirements
United States Cultures (US) or
International Cultures (IL) – 3 credits of
either one (courses which fulfill either US
or IL requirements have a USI
designation)
Writing Across the Curriculum (any course
with a W suffix – PHIL 103W is
recommended if it is offered) – 3 credits

during first two semesters [30 credits]) – 1
credit. Consider ADM J 083, a 3 credit course
which meets the FYS requirement.
United States Cultures (US) and International
Cultures (IL) – 6 credits (courses which fulfill
either requirement are designated USI – you still
need 6 credits)
Writing Across the Curriculum (W) – 3 credits

these topics - You are NOT limited to
these but this may spur your thinking…

Courses identified on the skills enhancement
petition may not be counted towards
general education credits nor towards
other requirements for the major. They
can be courses that are being used to
