Using Data Atlas, ChiMat brings together a wide range of data from many different sources in a flexible, theme-based tool. The on-line atlas provides access to local, regional and national child and maternal health indicators and statistics over time. Child Health Profiles Child Health Profiles provide a snapshot of child health and wellbeing for each local authority in England using key health indicators, which enables comparison locally, regionally and nationally. By using the profiles local organisations can work in partnership to plan and commission evidence-based services based on local need. The profiles allow you to compare the outcomes in your local population with others in order to identify and learn from better performing areas. PREview PREview is a set of planning resources to help commissioners, managers and professionals to target preventive resources, in particular around the Healthy Child Programme, where they are most needed. PREview is based on evidence identifying the factors in pregnancy and infancy that are associated with outcomes for children at five years. • Disease Management Information Toolkit (DMIT) The Disease Management Information Toolkit (DMIT) has information at Primary Care Trust (PCT) level on emergency hospital admissions for patients aged under 19 with a primary diagnosis of a particular condition. The toolkit enables PCTs to compare their emergency admission rates, bed-days and lengths of stay with a range of different comparators. It is designed to highlight variations at PCT level and allow benchmarking to inform the commissioning decisionmaking process for children's services. • Outcomes Versus Expenditure Tool Using the Outcomes versus Expenditure Tool you can compare expenditure and other aspects of services with a number of outcome measures at primary care trust (PCT) level. • Self Assessment Tool This set of self assessment tools is designed to help commissioners and local health economies assess their progress in implementing key national policy. The tools are based on the components of the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services and other key policy documents. • Needs Assessment Needs Assessment Reports provide appropriate evidence-based information on prevalence, incidence and risk factors affecting children’s health and the provision of healthcare services. • Service Snapshots Service Snapshots provide a summary of demand, provision and outcomes for services in a particular area.
