LIDAR QC Survey Meeting held on 2/13

    NCGS NASA D&D Coastal Service Center NCGS performed a QC survey of temporary GPS base stations’ horizontal and vertical positions in January 2001.

  The plan for scoping flood hazard mapping needs for counties and communities in the Phase II River Basins (Chowan, Roanoke, Yakdin, Catawaba, and New) is under development Details to be provided at a future CTS Committee Meeting

Higher Standards

   Work Group met on February 7, 2001 Expanding Scope from Future Conditions Hydrology to include all Floodplain Management and Mapping Standards that exceed NFIP minimums Developing criteria/process for identifying communities that might benefit from higher standards

Issue:  NC flood maps will be official FIRMs  Will be used for flood insurance and mortgage determinations Proposed Policy/Process:  Should other interested parties (i.e., insurance agents, determination companies) be proactively engaged?
