e-strategy: Priority 6
• Build a common digital infrastructure to
support transformation and reform
• Developing high-speed access to robust and sustainable
e-systems for all organisations across the sectors based
upon a common systems framework and technical
standards for the software and systems needed to support
the strategy, and providing best value ICT procurement
frameworks that are available to all organisations

support, training and cost

choice
Becta EU Framework Agreements
• Becta are in the process of negotiating a number
of procurement frameworks with a view to
increasing the amount of free capital available
to schools and other educational establishments.
• An EU Framework removes the financial barriers
associated with large purchases
• The EU Framework provides a list of authorised, tested
and monitored educational suppliers
• The Framework aims to provide aggregated purchases
to give you a better price
Purchase in confidence…
• services which conform to Becta’s Technical and
Functional standards
• services which deliver best value through aggregation
of individual school demands
• from approved suppliers with regular monitoring under
Becta’s terms and conditions
• ICT service management which conforms to Becta’s
Framework for ICT Technical Support (FITS)
A complete managed service purchased through the framework may not be
the best solution for every school or Local Authority. Schools or Local
Authorities may prefer to use their own staff for some aspects,
supplementing this with suppliers where appropriate.
