Il
Colosseo,
originariamente
conosciuto come Anfiteatro Flavio,
è situato al centro di Roma. In
grado di contenere fino a 50.000
spettatori, è il più grande e
importante anfiteatro romano,
nonché
il
più
imponente
monumento della Roma antica che
sia giunto fino a noi.
The Colosseum, originally known
as the Flavian Amphitheater, is
located in the center of Rome. It
can hold up to 50,000 spectators
and it is the largest and most
important Roman amphitheater
and the most imposing monument
of ancient Rome which has come to
us.

Il Vittoriano è un monumento
nazionale situato a Roma in piazza
Venezia. Il monumento viene
spesso chiamato Altare della Patria,
da quando esso accoglie il Milite
Ignoto. Il suo nome deriva da
Vittorio Emanuele II di Savoia,
primo Re d’ Italia.
The Victorian is a national
monument located in Rome's
Piazza Venezia. The monument is
often called Altare della Patria,
since it includes the Unknown
Soldier. Its name comes from
Vittorio Emanuele II of Savoy, first
King of Italy.

La Fontana di Trevi è la più
grande ed una fra le più note
Fontane di Roma; è considerata
all’ unanimità una delle più belle
fontane del mondo. Il tema della
scultura è il mare.

Piazza di Spagna, con la scalinata
della Trinità dei Monti, è una delle
più famose piazze di Roma. Deve il
suo nome al palazzo di Spagna,
ambasciata della Santa Sede.
La monumentale scalinata di 135
gradini, fu inagurata dal Papa
Benedetto XII in occasione del
Giubileo del 1725.
Spagna Square, with the steps of
Trinity of the Mountains, is one of
the most famous squares of Roma. It
owes its name to the palace of Spain,
embassy of the Holy See.
The monumental stairway of 135
steps, was inaugurated by Pope
Benedict XII on the occasion of the
Jubilee of 1725.

Il Pantheon, “tempio di tutti gli dei”, è
un edificio di Roma antica costruito
come tempio dedicato alle divinità
dell’Olimpo. Fu fatto costruire
dall’imperatore Adriano intorno al
126 d.C., dopo che un incendio aveva
danneggiato
la
costruzione
precedente di età augustea.
The Pantheon, “temple of all gods”, is
a structure of the ancient Rome built
as a temple to the gods of Olympus,
by Emperor Hadrian around 126 a.C. ,
after a fire had damaged the building
in the earlier age of Augustus.

Piazza San Pietro è la piazza
antistante la Basilica di San Pietro,
inserita ai margini del centro
storico di Roma, la piazza è nella
città del Vaticano. La famosa piazza
è dedicata al luogo santo eponimo
di pellegrinaggio e di vita
quotidiana per migliaia di fedeli
cattolici provenienti da tutto il
mondo.
St. Peter’s Square is the square
outside the Basilica of St. Peter,
embedded in the margins of the
historical center of Rome, and it is
located in the Vatican City. The
famous square, is dedicated to the
eponymous holy place of everyday
life and pilgrimage for thousands
of devoted catholic from around

Il Castel Sant’Angelo, detto anche
Mausoleo
di
Adriano,
è
un
monumento romano, radicalmente
modificato più volte in epoca
medioevale e rinascimentale. È
situato sulla sponda destra del fiume
Tevere, di fronte al Ponte sant’Angelo
a poca distanza del Vaticano, nel
rione di Borgo.
The Castle of the Holy Angel, also
called Mausoleum of Hadrian, is a
Roman monument, radically changed
several times during the Middle and
Renaissance Ages. It is located on the
right bank of the river Tiber, and in
front of the bridge of the Holy Angel,
near to the Vatican in the Borgo
district.

Piazza Navona è una delle più celebri
piazze di Roma. La sua forma è
quella di un antico stadio e venne
costruita in stile monumentale per
volere di papa Innocenzo X.
Piazza Navona is one of the most
famous squares of Rome. It is
shaped as an ancient stadium
and was built in monumental
style as Pope Innocent X wished.
