INVENTION I’ve done it, I’ve done it!

Guess what I’ve done!

Invented a light that plugs into the sun.

The sun is bright enough, The bulb is strong enough, But, oh, there’s only one thing wrong… The cord ain’t long enough.

Bella, EARLY BIRD Oh, if you’re a bird, be an early bird And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.

If you’re a bird, be an early bird – But if you’re a worm, sleep late.

Gabby, Jason, Taylor, Steven, Mason

WEIRD-BIRD Tanner, Marvin, Secily, Elise Birds are flyin’ south for winter.

Here’s the Weird-Bird headin’ north.

Wings a-flappin’, beak a-chatterin’, Cold head bobbin’ back ‘n’ forth.

Sarah, James, Brendon, Sean, Logan He says, “It’s not that I like ice Or freezin’ winds and snowy ground.

It’s just sometimes it’s kind of nice To be the only bird in town.”

OURCHESTRA So you haven’t got a drum, just beat your belly.

So I haven’t got a horn – I’ll play my nose.

So we haven’t any cymbals – We’ll just slap our hands together, And though there may be orchestras That sound a little better With their fancy shiny instruments That cost an awful lot – Hey, we’re making music twice as good By playing what we’ve got!

Eric P., Lloyd, Isaac, Devin

MAKE NEW FRIENDS 1. Make new friends, but keep the old, One is silver, and the other gold.

2. A circle is round, it has no end, That’s how long I’m going to be your friend.

3. Friends like you, are one of a kind, Very special and so hard to find.

THE ACROBATS I’ll swing By my ankles, She’ll cling To your knees As you hang By your nose From a high-up Trapeze.

But just one thing, please, As we float through the breeze – Don’t sneeze.

Monica, Tanaya, Cheyenne, Trinity

LITTLE HOARSE Beau, Alex Lane, Taylor My voice was raspy, rough, and cracked.

I said, “I am a little hoarse.” They stuck a saddle on my back And jumped on me – and now, of course, Gracey, Jason, Sarah, Elise They trot me and they gallop me, They prance me up and down the town Yellin’, “Giddy up, little hoarse.” (Some things don’t mean the way they sound.)

Danny O’Dare, the dancin’ bear, Ran away from the County Fair, Ran right up to my back stair And thought he’d do some dancin’ there.

He started jumpin’ and skippin’ and kickin’, He did a dance called the Funky Chicken, He did the Polka, he did the Twist, He bent himself into a pretzel like this.

He did the Dog and the Jitterbug, He did the Jerk and the Bunny Hug.

He did the Waltz and the Boogaloo, He did the Hokey-Pokey too.

He did the Bop and the Mashed Potata, He did the Split and the See Ya Later.

And now he’s down upon one knee, Bowin’ oh so charmingly, And winkin’ and smilin’ -- it’s easy to see Danny O’Dare wants to dance with me.

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD I see trees of green, red roses too, I see them bloom for me and you, And I think to myself What a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white, The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night, And I think to myself What a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people goin ’ by.

I see friends shakin ’ hands, Sayin ’, “How do you do!” They’re really sayin’ “I love you.” I hear babies cry, I watch them grow They’ll learn much more than I’ll ever know, And I think to myself What a wonderful world.

Yes, I think to myself What a wonderful world.

TREE HOUSE A tree house, a free house, A secret you and me house, A high up in the leafy branches Cozy as can be house.

A street house, a neat house, Be sure and wipe your feet house Is not my kind of house at all – Let’s go live in a tree house.

Gracie, Sydney, Marissa, Julia, Cameron

TURKEY?

Erin, Traeton, Peter, Elizabeth I only ate one drumstick At the picnic dance this summer, Just one little drumstick – They say I couldn’t be dummer.

Ricardo, Sean, Eric Hall, Koby One tough and skinny drumstick, Why was that such a bummer?

But everybody’s mad at me, Especially the drummer.

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS BY Ralph Waldo Emerson To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.

We hope you enjoyed our program. We wish each of you a beautiful summer. We hope to see you soon. Good night.

We Go Together 1. We go together, like Rama lama lama ka ding-a da ding a-dong.

THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS It must have been cold there in my shadow, To never have sunlight on my face.

You were content to let me shine, that’s your way, You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory, While you were the one with all the strength.

A beautiful face without a name, for so long, A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

CHORUS Did you ever know that you’re my hero?

And everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle, ‘Cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed, But I’ve got it all here in my heart.

I want you to know I know the truth, Of course I know it.

I would be nothing without you.

CHORUS (TWICE)

Fly… fly… Fly away, you let me fly so high.

Oh, fly…fly…So high against the sky, So high I almost touch the sky.

Thank you, thank you, thank God for you, The wind beneath my wings.
