Course Overview:

The course provides basic technical knowledge on the techniques and equipments used in drilling hydrocarbon Wells. Participants will have better understanding on the whole drilling operations. On the last day, participants Will have the opportunity to practice with Drilling Simulators.

•Rig Types and Rig Components •Drill Bits and Drill Bit Technology •Directional Drilling •Bottom Hole Assemblies for Directional Drilling •Pipe Bending, Bucking, Fatigue, Neutral point, Torque and Drag, Azimuth Declination and Convergence •Horizontal Drilling, Multilateral tie-back systems and new innovative techniques •Casting (types & functions), Basic Design and Design Criteria •Basic Cementing (classification, additives and functions), Casting Cementing •Drilling Fluids (classification, additives and treatments) •Drilling costs and drilling cost controls

Who should attend?

Newly engineers and some experienced personnel working on Drilling Rigs who want to gain exposure on drilling theories and operations, and non-technical E&P staff such as logistics, Finance and Personnel who want to gain knowledge and to understand the technical terms in drilling.
