Future of the MMP

The MMP work group made the following
recommendations to State Library:
A dedicated staff person is essential to sustain an
on-going project
 Libraries need support for



Scanning training and equipment
Digital preservation and storage
Montana Memory Project beta

There seems to be a general recognition
among libraries that they are becoming
their community repositories

This provides wonderful partnership
opportunities for libraries and local community
organizations including museums and
historical societies who also face the same
issues.
Montana Memory Project beta

The staff of the Montana State Library recognize
the importance of supporting collaborative
digital projects

Goal #1, Objective 11 of the MSL long-range plan
states “Work collaboratively toward developing,
managing, presenting, and preserving Montanarelevant digital content.”

MSL would like your feedback about this and all the goals
and objectives in its long-term plan. Please feel free to share
your comments at:
