Verses from the Holy Quran
– a slideshow presentation
Prepared by Maruf Khan’05.
Allah is the Light of the heavens and
the earth The parable of His Light is as
(if there were) a niche and within it a
lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as
it were a brilliant star, lit from a
blessed tree, an olive, neither of the
East nor of the West, whose oil would
almost glow forth (of itself), though no
fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allâh
guides to His Light whom He wills And
Allah sets forth parables for mankind,
and Allah is All-Knower of everything.
Quran – 24:35
O mankind, truly We have created you male and female, and have made you
nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Truly the most noble of you,
in the sight of God, is the most God-conscious. Quran - 49: 13
To each community among you We have prescribed a Law and a way of life. If Allah
had so willed He would have made you a single people, but His plan is to test you in
what He has given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of you all is to
Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in which you differ.
Quran - 5:48
Omer Ali Seifuddin Mosque, Brunei
And the servants of the Infinitely Compassionate are those who walk on the earth
in humility and when the ignorant accost them, they only reply "Peace!"
Quran - 25:65
Sultan Salauddin Mosque, Malaysia
For every community (of
faith) We have appointed
ways of worship, which they
aught to observe. Hence, do
not let those (who follow
other ways) draw you into
dispute on this score, but
summon them to their
Sustainer: for you are on the
right way. And if they argue
with you, say: God knows
best what you are doing.
Quran - 22:67
Al Hambra Palace in Spain
Truly those who believe, and
the Jews, and the Christians,
and the Sabaeans - whoever
believes in God and the Last
Day and performs virtuous
deeds - surely their reward is
with their Sustainer, and no
fear shall come upon them,
neither shall they grieve.
Quran - 2:62
It was We who revealed the Torah;
therein was guidance and light. By
its standard the Jewish people
have been judged by the Prophets
who surrendered to God's will, as
well as by the Rabbis and the
doctors of Law, for to them the
protection of God's book was
entrusted: If any do fail to judge by
what God has revealed (including
the Torah), they are (no better
than) unbelievers. Quran - 5:44
Hasan II Mosque
Casablanca, Morocco
We ordained for the Children of Israel that if
anyone slew a person unless it be for murder or for
spreading mischief in the land, it would be as if he
slew all of humanity: and if anyone saved a life it
would be as if he saved the life of all of humanity.
Quran - 5:32
Abdul Aziz Mosque, Spain :
We ordained therein for them: "A life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an
ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth and equivalence in harm done." But if anyone by way
of charity foregoes that retaliation, it is an act of atonement for himself. And if any fail
to judge by what God has revealed, they are wrongdoers. Quran - 5:45
Goek Tepe Mosque, Turkmenistan
To Jesus the son of Mary
We gave clear signs and
strengthened him with
the Holy Spirit. Quran 2:253
Islamic Cultural Center, Rome
And in their footsteps We sent
Jesus the son of Mary confirming
the law that had come before him:
We sent him the Gospel: and
therein was guidance and light and
confirmation of the law that had
come before him: a guidance and
an admonition to those who are
conscious of God. Quran - 5:45-46
Mosque in Turfan, China
Behold! The angels said: “O
Mary! Allah has chosen you
and purified you – chosen you
above the women of all
nations. Quran – 3:42
Behold! The angels said: “O
Mary! Allah gives you glad
tidings of a Word from Him:
his name will be Christ
Jesus, the son of Mary, held
in honor in this world and the
Hereafter and and will be
one of those who are near to
Allâh” Quran – 3:45
Mosque in Singapore
Goodness and Evil cannot be equal. Repel Evil with something better; then the
one who hated you will become your friend and intimate! Quran - 41:34
Let there be no compulsion in
religion. Truth stands out clearly from
error; whoever rejects evil and has
faith in God has grasped the most
trustworthy, unfailing handhold. And
God hears and knows all things. God
is the Protector of those who have
faith: from the depths of darkness He
will lead them forth into light.
Quran - 2:256-257

and is the holiest place in Islam.
And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for all mankind.
Quran – 21:107
The Holy Ka’aba (House of God) in Makkah
We have sent you (O Muhammad)
but as a universal Messenger to
men, giving them glad tidings, and
warning them (against sin), but most
men understand not.
Quran – 2:115

And to Allah belong the East and the West, so wherever you turn there is the Face of
Allah (and He is High above, over His Throne) Surely! Allah is All-Embracing, AllKnowing.
Quran – 2:115

All-Wise Quran – 59:24
Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god – the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source
of Peace, The Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the
Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to
Him.
Quran – 59:23
Allah commands justice, the doing of good, and liberality to kith and kin, and He forbids
all shameful deeds, and injustice and oppression.
Quran – 16:90
O mankind! reverence your Lord, Who
created you from a single person (Adam),
Created, of like nature, his mate (Eve), and
from them both He created countless men
and women – fear Allah through Whom you
demand your mutual (rights), and
(reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for
Allah ever watches over you.
Quran – 4:1

And when My servants ask
you concerning Me, then
(answer them), I am indeed
close (to them): I listen to the
prayer of every supplicant
when he calls on Me: let them
also, with a will, listen to My
call, and believe in Me: that
they may walk in the right
way.

It is righteousness to believe in Allah,
and the Last Day, and the Angels,
and the Book, and the Messengers;
to spend of your substance, out of
love of Him, for your kin, for orphans,
for the needy, for the wayfarer, for
those who ask, and for the ransom of
slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and
practise regular charity, to fulfil the
contracts which ye have made; and to
be firm and patient, in pain (or
suffering) and adversity, and
throughout all periods of panic.
Quran – 2:177
O you who believe! Seek
help with patient
Perseverence and Prayer:
Truly! Allah is with those who
patiently persevere.
Quran – 2:153

Mosque, Alexandria
Thus have We made of you an
Ummah (nation) justly balanced,
that you might be witnesses
over all nations, and the
Messenger a witness over
yourselves… And never would
Allah make your faith of no
effect. For Allah is to all people
most surely full of kindness,
Most Merciful.

Righteousness is this that one should believe in Allah and the
last day and the angels and the Book and the prophets, and
give away wealth out of love for Him to the near of kin and the
orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and the beggars and
for (the emancipation of) the captives, and keep up prayer and
pay the poor-rate; and the performers of their promise when
they make a promise, and the patient in distress and affliction
and in time of conflicts (Quran 2:177)
Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation;
so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all
things. (Quran – 29:20)
It is He Who made the sun to
be a shining glory and the
moon to be a light (of beauty),
and measured out stages for
her; that ye might know the
number of years and the
count (of time). Nowise did
Allah create this but in truth
and righteousness. (Thus)
doth He explain His Signs in
detail, for those who
understand.
(Quran – 10:5)
Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth
and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs
for men who understand. (Quran – 3:190)
"Come back to your Lord,
Well-pleased (yourself) and
well-pleasing unto Him!
"Enter you, then, among
My Servants,
"And enter you My
Paradise!"
