It is based on the conjuction of a ±1.5g - 6g capacitive micromachined accelerometer, together with a true System-On-Chip (SOC) solution for wireless sensor networking based on ZigBee®/IEEE 802.15.4, working at 2.45 GHz. The chip includes a location detection hardware module that can be used in so-called blind nodes (i.e. nodes with unknown location) to receive signals from nodes with known location. Based on this, the location engine calculates an estimate of a blind node’s This feature increases the performance of the whole system, combining the information from the accelerometer, together with the position estimation from the location engine, being the perfect solution for tracking applications.
