As a LAP team, we determined that we needed to concentrate on specific tenets of the DTSDE: Curriculum Development and Support, as well as, Teacher Practices and Decisions for targeted, manageable action steps to move the Newark Kelley School forward. It is significant to note that, in the summer, a team of teachers came together for a day (6 hours) to review the DTSDE rubric to create the Plan for Excellence. Some of this cross curricular problem solving is included in this report to ensure it is a comprehensive document. Additionally, we utilized the 2013-2014 ELA and Mathematics assessments data to drive our action steps for our LAP.
