A Study of the Correlation between Galactic Distance and Morphology Harry Gaebler and Rebecca JensenClem What is Redshift? -The distances to 30 different galaxies were computed before camp using redshift. -Redshift is the movement of spectral lines toward the red end of the spectrum as light from distant objects is stretched. -Redshift can be used to calculate the recessional velocity of objects. -After obtaining the recessional velocity of an object, one can calculate its distance using Hubble's Law.
