Transcript ST.Cecilia

• I was named Elizabeth because Mom liked
it.
• Cecilia because that’s my Mom’s
Grandma’s name.
• She was born in second
century Rome.
• Cecilia was an only child
• When the prefect sought
to have her killed, they
tried to boil her alive. The
attempt failed so they
decided to behead her.
They tried three times
unsucessfully so the
executioner ran in fear.
• Cecilia died three days after in prison
• She is the patron saint of musicians and church music because as
she was dying she sang to God.
• When her body was found long after her death, one of her hands
had 3 out stretched fingers and on the other hand, one showing her
belief in the Trinity.
The skull of Saint
Cecilia is kept as a
relic in the
Cathedral of
Torcello.
Her feast day is
November 22
