The Potential of
Online Workspaces
to Support the Work
of MCNs & the
Stroke Audit Group

What are Online Workspaces?
• Workspaces are collections of Internet-based tools
• They can help to support the COMMUNICATION,
COORDINATION & COLLABORATION activities of
geographically distributed groups of people that have a
need to work together
• They can also help to support the day-to-day management
and administration of these groups
Online Workspaces have now been developed and
are being offered to CHD & Stroke MCNs.
They are intended to:
• Help MCN members to find each other through Directory
services
• Enable document sharing across the MCN, within a given
sub-group or a smaller working group
• Support online discussion about topical issues or plans at
MCN or group level
• Allow MCN documents to be authored collaboratively
• Assist the scheduling and organisation of MCN meetings
and events
An additional Workspace is being launched to
encourage exchange between Stroke MCNs across
Scotland and to support the work of national stroke
groups
This presentation hopes to sow seeds of thought as
to how it might support the work of the Stroke Audit
Group
