Using the LCD
• The LCD projector is all
connected. Your audience is
seated and breathlessly waiting
for your presentation.
• How do you start up the machine
you just connected to?
• Hopefully you have viewed this
ahead of time because you may
still need to do some fiddling.
• Be patient. Let’s hope your
audience is too!
Using the LCD
• You have connected the
LCD projector, and you
are ready to begin.
• How do you start it up?
• First you have to power
it up
• Press the button shown
on the right

• Next you will see
a warm up screen,
in this case it says
Nipawin School
Division, yours
might say EPSON
which is the
default screen

Notice that in the lower left hand
corner it says No Signal and
underneath it says source: Computer
If you are using a computer then this
is fine however if you are using a
video recorder as your source then
you need to change it
You do this by pressing the Source
button located on the top of the LCD
projector
Each time you press it the LCD
projector will switch from Video to
Computer and back again

• If you are showing a video
then you should now just
press play on your recorder.
• Make sure the source on the
LCD projector is set to
Video and you will be
showing video on the
screen.
• Use the sliding tabs on the
lens to adjust the focus and
zoom

• If you are using a computer,
you will still have to
change some settings on
your computer.
• First change the source on
the LCD projector to
computer by pressing the
source button as previously
demonstrated

• Then go to START –
SETTINGS –
CONTROL PANEL

• Now find the
DISPLAYS icon and
click on it,

• Notice the Settings tab
at the top.
• Click on it.

• Click on the 1 screen
• Now, choose the
Advanced button in the
lower right hand corner.

• Click on the Displays
tab (no – I am not
kidding) – this is a
different Displays tab
so click on it.

Now take a look at your displays.
Your screen may look different from
this one but it will show you your
possibilities for video.
You need to make sure that BOTH
the LCD (sometimes called Panel)
and the Monitor are active.
This may mean clicking the little
green corner on this screen or
activating it in other equally peculiar
ways depending on your machine.
In most cases this will solve your
problem.
LCD Setup – Remote Control
• One other thing that might
add to your presentation is
the use of the remote
control
• If your LCD projector has
one it may be concealed in
the little container on the
bottom of the projector as
shown on the right

• It has many functions and if you
have connected your cables as
previously described you will be
able to walk around a large room
and control the Back and
Forward functions of your
PowerPoint presentations on the
remote control
• It also has buttons to switch
between Video and Computer as
well as Muting and Menu
buttons. Consult your manual for
all the functions
