Story Literary Elements
Some basics that every good story
must have in order to unlock the
meaning!
PLOT
Plot is the organized pattern or sequence
of events that make up a story.
Every plot is made up of a series of
incidents that are related to one another.

SUB PLOT
Many stories and novels have a main plot
plus one or more subplots.
A subplot always has some elements in
common with the main plot, such as
characters and setting.
But it is less important—or subordinate
to — the main plot.
The time and place of the story is
the setting
Every story needs characters
People
Animals
Or Creatures
The protagonist is the “good guy”
The antagonist is the “bad guy”
or force
The climax is the most exciting
part!!
Whether you’re the reader, or the
writer, a great story includes all
these literary elements!!!

The point of view is the
perspective of the story

“I was framed! I

A hint about what will happen
next is called foreshadowing
For example, if you hear spooky
music…
Then you know someone’s about to get in
trouble!
