PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
Glendale College acquired Campus Solutions in
2006 a year after the merger of PeopleSoft with
Oracle. In 2008, the college selected Ciber as the
implementation partner for Campus Solutions.
The main goal of this collaborative project is to
replace the old student system that has been in
place since 1983. The new PeopleSoft Campus
Solutions student system will go live by Summer
2010.
Benefits of Campus Solutions
The overall benefits to a campus implementing this
software can be tremendous. PeopleSoft products
are developed using a web-based architecture
enabling easy access to information and services.
The web-based architecture greatly simplifies
maintenance and support inherent in previous
technologies. As PeopleSoft continues to enhance
their software to meet customer demand, GCC will
benefit by having access to the new functionality to
implement.
Benefits of Campus Solutions
The benefits of the new software will be realized
over a period of time as the college phases in new
functionality. The initial phases typically involve
the replacement of the old system with some
improvement in targeted areas. Once the initial
installation is completed, the foundation is set for
the college to phase in additional features and
services.

Student Center page, students can:
• Access to information from a single web page.
• Apply online for admission as well as federal financial aid.
• View class and exam schedules, check enrollment appointments,
and enroll or change enrollment in classes.
• Request transcripts, view course and grade history, and evaluate
transfer credit.
• Manage accounts for charges, payments, financial aid, and
admission deposit activity.
• Make online credit card payments.
• View financial aid details, including the cost of attendance, expected
family contribution, accepted and net loan amounts, and loan fees.
From Campus Self Service's Faculty Center
page, faculty can:
• See a complete calendar of assigned classes.
• View a list of students who are enrolled or wait-listed for a class,
plus those who dropped.
• Send email to one student, a select group, or all students in a
class—with just one click.
• Access class information, such as start and end date, days and
times, and location.
• Enter final grades for each student.
Key Milestones
1. Training and fit/gap sessions for the project
team are completed.
2. Project charter has been finalized and posted on
the web site.
3. Installation of the PeopleSoft software is
completed.
4. Configuration of the system is underway.
Definition of Fit/Gap
The fit/gap stage of an implementation compares
the delivered PeopleSoft package to the college’s
current business processes and requirements.
Those processes or features that are implemented
without customizations are considered a “Fit”.
“Gaps” are those processes that require a
customization or a change in policies or
procedures.
