Where to Use Your Dining Plan Bucks • • • Five convenience shops Fourteen cafés Adele’s Restaurant and Mulligan’s Grill Where to Use Your Dining Plan Stamp Add On Plan (supplemental option) • Ten brand-name locations in the Stamp Union: Auntie Anne’s Saladworks Chick fil-A Sbarro Moby Dick Subway McDonalds Sushi by Panda Panda Express Taco Bell Express • Taco Bell Express in Martin Engineering Dining Services Online Features Include: • Online Services • Verify transactions • Check balances • Add funds • Dining Plan calendar • Nutritional Information • Value Meal Menus • Report a lost UMD ID card and freeze all spending accounts Real time information available 24 hours a day! dining.umd.edu Value Meal Lunches announced on @UMDdining and facebook.com/UMDdining every day Monday to Friday UMD ID Card Privileges • • • • • Access to housing Access to spending accounts Access to Health Center Care Access to campus computers, printers, and copiers Access to shuttle bus Responsibilities • • • You must be present to use You must report through DS online services if lost You must replace at Records and Registration (Mitchell Building) Making the Most of Your Dining Plan • Value Meals are served for lunch and dinner at South Campus Dining Hall and The Diner. In general, they include one entrée and one or two side dishes. The Value Meal menu changes every day. • The mythical “Average Student” eats 13 - 14 averagesize meals a week with Dining Services (dining halls, cafés and 251 North combined). • Students who eat more than average may need a back-up plan (Stamp Add-On, Terrapin Express, debit/credit card, cash). • There is a 40 Point per day spending cap in place during last three weeks of the semester. • Every part of the Dining Plan (Resident Points, 251 North Meals, and Terp Bucks) expires at the end of each semester. Student Employment • • • Dining Services employs over 400 students per semester. Starting pay $8.25 / hour plus free meal every shift. Opportunity for advancement to Student Supervisor / Student Manager Examples of student positions: • Bakery • Concessions • Marketing • Barista • Dishwasher • Nutrition Assistant • Business Office • Driver • Procurement • Cashier • IT Support • Restaurant Cook • Catering Waiter • Late Night Dining • Retail Associate Terrapin Express Turns your UMD ID card into a debit card that grants access to oncampus vendors and services. Terrapin Express is optional and does not replace a Resident Dining Plan for a student living on campus. Add funds online, by mail, by phone or in person Check Terrapin Express accounts online via terrapinexpress.umd.edu Your First Three Weeks… Tips and Helpful Hints: • The dining halls each have a dozen different food stations – try something new every day! • Always bring your UMD ID card when you come in to eat! • Speak up !!
