Pearson Digital Library

A planned new CMS platform for BTS 2012 designed to address the need of
students and instructors to search, preview, purchase, and then manage their
ebook and digital media content.




Search or browse through a large collection of Pearson eText titles and media content
Access the Digital Library using a personal computer‘s web browser or mobile device
Business Units can pre-defined collections or allow individual users to expand their
bookshelf by subscription
PLS can created custom libraries for sales to institutions

Initial release will be guided by the requirements of the US and Canadian
Teacher Education and Canadian MBA teams, as well as the Nursing/Ready
Point teams and focused on eText titles

English, Sociology and History are looking to integrate DL with their MyLabs this
fall. Other Softside teams anticipate availability for Jan 2013. Int’l HiEd has also
expressed interest in using DL in 2013.

Future releases will include searching for Pearson media assets, collection
personalizations and more.

 CMS is working across PENA to standardize XMLs
 CMS is conducting an investigation of CS6 as a
digital composition tool
 CMS is rolling out the new Workflow for HiEd now
and School in 2013
 A integration between the Media Server and
Documentum is planned.
 Planning is underway to support a number of Digital
Extensions to the Workflow including a new reflowable eText in 2013, nicknamed “NextText”.
