Vision™ and Horizon™ Clearances

12” either side required for service

The Horizon™ Icemaker must be installed a minimum of 12 inches from the Vision™ Dispenser. You will read more later about the importance of under-counter clearances and their effect on air circulation.

Vision™ In-Counter Installation The dispenser’s lip (deck plate) will not support the weight of the machine. Failure to install the supplied legs will cause the lower bin portion to separate from the upper beverage rail, resulting in damage to the dispenser.

Docking Station Installation The docking station should be securely mounted onto the cabinet base. The docking station makes sure the icemaker fits properly through the access door or panel for under-counter installations. Please confirm that you have a minimum cabinet opening height of 23.5” inches.

23.5”

Intake Grille Installation The icemaker draws air through the intake grille to keep the condenser cool during operation. Follett supplies an air-intake grille that must be installed into the access door or panel to provide the icemaker with unrestricted air flow.

Custom Intake Grille Dimensions 1000 series 150 square inches (12” x 16”) 1400 series 175 square inches (16” x 16”)

Intake and Exhaust Clearance If you install the exhaust grille in the front of the counter, you must maintain at least 18 inches between the exhaust and intake openings to prevent hot air from recirculating. If the intake and exhaust are less than 18 inches apart, the intake will recirculate hot exhaust air back into the icemaker. The hot air will cause the icemaker to overheat and produce poor quality ice. The ice maker could shut down due to high head pressure.

18”

Transport Tube Installation When the icemaker cycles off, ice left in the transport tube will slowly melt. For proper dispense operation, this melt water must drain back into the icemaker. Before you measure and cut the transport tubing to length, ensure the following specifications: • The transport tube must slope back towards the icemaker for proper drainage.

• Slope tubing at least a 1/4 inch per foot pitch.

• The transport tube must be secured every 2 feet to prevent dips and traps from forming • Insulate the entire length of the ice transport tube between the dispenser and the icemaker.

Rubber Gasket Installation Included in the box with the louvered grilles is a rubber gasket that must be installed completely around the intake opening on the front cover, as shown in the photo. This gasket provides a seal between the ice machine and the cabinet door to prevent hot air recirculation Rubber gasket
