Summit Overview
• Twelfth Annual Summit and hosted by St. Martin’s University
• Registered 172 students, 25 parents, 14 educators from 18 schools across
six counties
– Reduced student registrations due to first-time ever Saturday program
– Parent registrations due to first-time ever Parent workshops
• Three main parts to the day
– Keynote speech, “Imagine Your Future” by Sandra Madrid, Special Assistant to
the Vice President for Minority Affairs/Vice Provost for Diversity, University of
Washington (with two guest co-speakers)
– Students met with local employers and colleges during lunch
– More than 12 student/parent workshops; CE credit workshops for educators
• A pre-survey was administered at registration to collect demographic data
• A post-survey was administered after the Summit to determine impact
(results forthcoming)

• Grade distribution of participants was
weighted slightly toward seniors with juniors
having the fewest
• Demographics of participants
– 60% female, 40% male
– 98% self-identify as Hispanic, <1% as nonHispanic, 1% chose to not identify
– 24% of registrants were first-generation Latino;
13% were second generation
48% did not know what generation they were
