WHY
GLADIATORS
ATE LIKE US ?
•Let us understand the
•RE-EVOLUTION
•of gladiators' spirit
•into our nutrition
• (33 slides presentation
• by Prof. Giorgio Fabretti,

• Here we present new analysis by Prof.
Giorgio Fabretti on the scientifical
examination of the archeological
findings by the Austrian Archeological
Institute of Wien in Ephesus, Turkey.
• Chemical findings have been
reconsidered. Their veg-fruitarian diet
was compatible with muscular slim
bodies, rather than fat and heavvy as
formerly asserted.
• The new scientific conclusions are
that an over 90% fruitarian
nutrition, strictly chronologically
disciplined and synchronized with
physiological hormonal cicles, is the
only healthy weight-control and
bodybuilding diet compatible with
health, strenght and immunoresistance to infections and most
sicknesses.
• The site was first found about 5
years ago in Ephesus, a major
Roman city in Turkey, and
contained the mixed remains of
some 67 individuals, nearly all of
them under 30 years of age.
Many showed signs of healed
wounds.
• For over five years from 2002 to 2007,
two Austrian forensic anthropologists at
the Medical University of Vienna have
been studying and cataloguing the
remains. Professors Karl Grossschmidt
and Fabian Kanz have analyzed every
bone measuring for age, injury and
cause of death. The study’s results have
surprised even them.
•Why are the gladiators
are still alive in us?
•Let us understand it in
few slides.
•From 'munera sacra'
•to 'ludum gladiatoria',
•to 'eucharistic sacrifice'.
•From material
•to higher
•symbolic
•percentage.
•From force
•to intelligence.
•It is the evolution
•of human self-reliance.
• By serving God
• instead of the Emperor,
• the 'ritual symbolic agapes'
• evolve into receiving gifts
• from God's Nature:
• that is Science and Technology.
• From Pietas in Vis
• to Caritas in Veritate,
• Those who serve the people,
• deserve the people.
•
•
•
•
•
•
“From Pagan Pietas to Christian Caritas”
this is the Evangelic Concept
that guides the Constantinian warriors
to defeat the Massentian troops
at Ponte Milvio Battle
at the beginning of the 4th century.
• "In hoc signo vinces",
• literally means
• "you will win
• by mean of symbols":
• it is a software program.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
The Christian Re-Evolution wins:
it is the true non-violent revolution
in awareness
rather than in material force:
this last still could win
but it would repeat itself,
because it is a hammer,
not an advancing watch.
• Symbolic shift
• allows logic
• to implement
• in progress.
• Re-Evolution
• means "try again",
• "evolve again".
• Gandhi was fruitarian.
• Save energies
• by thinking the future,
• and then let the concepts
• guide your action.
• It will be more productive,
• with less waste
• by material failures.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Loser in the mind,
Winner in the reality.
Loser in the Present,
Winner in the Time.
This is how the Christian fighters,
the Martyrs, or Saints as S. Francis,
won the Gladiators,
whose spirit passed to them.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Martyrs evolved
the Roman Imperial
Military Caste
into the
Christian Apostolic
Roman Church.
From a corrupted army
to a symbolic community.
• Christianity is how Ancient
World
• evolves into Modern World,
• through the Middle Ages first,
• and only much later
• through the French Revolution.
• The French Revolution
• only represents how late
• was the French Society
• when compared to
• the Industrial Revolution
• already happened in England.
• The Retarded Revolution
• of French 1789,
• is the pattern
• of all the Retarded Nationalist,
• or Communist,
• or Extremist
• Revolutions later happened.
• All the revolutions
• are failures,
• when they pretend
• to compensate
• lack of technological progress
• with socially forced jumps.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Again:
intelligence in technology wins,
force in sociality loses.
That is why
Bureaucracy always lose.
Bizantin did lose and decline.
Still Bizantin Italy declines again today.

There is an evolution in continuity
from archaic sacrifices
to gladiators fightings,
to Christian symbolic sacrifice
in communitarian agapes:
These are symbolic and real foods
for people in ritual Masses.
• From the Amphiteatres,
• temples of the Passage
Rituals,
• from force to ‘pietas’, pity,
• toward Churches,
• the temples of the sacrifice
• of the Man Son of God.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
‘Caritas’, Charity
means that
those who serve God,
deserve the men solidarity,
while those who serve themselves
or the pure matter of force,
deserve nothing more
than themselves or alien forces.
• Selfishness deserves
• what it cultivates:
• the desert
• of self-referential
• repetitions,
• and no more Evolutions.
• When Logic
• does not operate,
• it produces no results;
• it gets static;
• and it burn itself
• into dry arid ashes.
• Let us go back to nutrition.
• Gladiators' eating
• was already pitiful
• of their partially sacred bodies,
• since they were destined
• to public sacrifice.
• Gladiators were used
• to generate
• the people's solidarity
• for the imperial duties
• and the legionnaires of Rome.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Amphiteatres like the Coliseum
were the 'pietas' pity factories
for the roman masses,
according to
the 'panem et circenses' policies,
still lasting today
with fast-food
and tv sportive matches.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
The almost fruitarian diet
of the frugal gladiators
was meant to keep
the joints clean and lubricated,
when arthritis and gotta
from meat abuses,
like in Trimalcione' banquets,
were widespread.
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
•
Our conceptual sequence
leads to conclude
that it is not by chance
that the gladiators' nutrition
is the same of the christian
communities of those times,
and of today's vegetarians
and fruitarians.
• "Salus et vis per dona frugi fructus"
• "Life and Energy by gifted frugal fruits",
•
•
•
•
•
•
could be the same motto
for gladiators and all of us today,
in continuity,
but in a new evolution,
in the eternal spirit
of life and regeneration.
"Salus et Vis per dona frugi fructus"
"Life and Energy by gifted frugal fruits"
• This is how gladiators arrive to us,
• inside us,
• confirmed but evolved.
• “Fruitarian gladiators
• as the people of the future”:
• it is a lesson from History
• that confirms the continuity
• of fundamental values.
