The Problem
Chronic conditions like obesity, heart disease, cancer and diabetes
exact a tremendous toll in premature death
Chronic conditions cost tens of billions of dollars each year
The leading cause of premature death is diet and physical
inactivity – now surpassing smoking
Childhood obesity rates have climbed and the American Medical
Association just announced they now consider obesity a
disease

Examples…
As a father of two young children, a former college athlete, and a person whose family has been affected by
cancer, stroke, heart disease, and rheumatoid arthritis, I am a strong believer in a healthy diet and the
power of produce. Having been blessed to be a part of the fresh produce industry for nearly two decades, I
am excited to be a part of the Produce For Better Health Foundation and to share in the mission of leading
people to eat more fruits and veggies because it matters for their health.

We love being a partner with Produce for Better Health! This program allows us to interact and partner
with brands and stores to reach consumers in a way we otherwise may not be able to. Ultimately, when it
comes to promoting a healthy way of life, we are all in this together.
