of a Project, including all building and landscaping
materials.
• Soft Costs: The non-physical costs that go into a

Life Cycle Cost Analysis(LCCA)
• LCCA is a method for assessing the total cost
of facility ownership.
• Takes into account all costs of acquiring,
owning, and disposing of a building or building
system.
• LCCA is useful to evaluate alternatives like
high performance HVAC system, glazing
system etc which have higher initial cost but
reduced operational

Points to be considered while
evaluating cost of Green Buildings
• Evaluate various sustainability measures based
on life cycle cost
• Have a experienced Green Building consultant on
board
• Research various options before taking a decision

1. Many project are achieving LEED within their
budgets, and in the same cost range as nonLEED projects.
2. Construction costs have risen dramatically, but
projects are still achieving LEED.
3. The idea that green is an added feature
continues to be a problem.

Integrated Project Delivery
Collaborative team: All the project team
members work integrated to achieve the
project sustainability goals
Project Predesign
Phases Design
Bidding
Construction
Commissioning
recommissioning
All members of the project are involved
from predesign phase
The project sustainability goals are
identified in predefined and reviewed in
each phase
During recommissioning the systems are
fine tuned to achieved to desired goals
